What did/does a normal day in the neighborhood look like to you?

A normal day in my neighborhood has the soundtrack of children laughing with screams of excitement. I can guarantee waves from faces I have watched grow older. 

What are/were some of your favorite stores and businesses in your neighborhood?

Coffee by design/ Rising Tide/ the African Market/ 7-11/ Mexicali Blues/ Find/ Ferdinand/ Ottos Pizza

What is one of your fondest memories of your time in the neighborhood?

Before they built the playground in Monroe circle there was a dirt mound where all the neighborhood kids came together to play kickball. I was always first captain.

Yes

Is there someone from the neighborhood that you would like to see painted as part of the project

Yes, his name was Garang Majok. He lived in Kennedy park and was an incredible basketball player. He died of an overdose two years ago. I can still see him dunking when I drive by the courts sometimes
